My name is Fares Azouni. I am 16 years old. My name describes who I am. Fares means 'Knight' and show jumping is my passion.

I have been riding horses since I was 6 years old. I started riding at one of the leading horse riding schools in the UAE. 

​

I started competing with an amazing 12 year old KWPN mare named Elite. She was a special partner and together we achieved great results in the UAE Longines league in 2021. I started another journey with Tourano, a Holsteiner gelding, in the summer of 2021. Tourano has been special. Together we won major competitions. To continue moving forward I started show jumping with Le Chiffre in early 2022 and soon I will start another adventure with Esteban Twinkeling Z, an 8 years old Zangersheid coming from Germany.

I participated in the Youth Equestrian Games held in CHIO Aachen, Germany from 23 June - 3 July representing Palestine. I competed along with 30 young athletes from all over the world and had the honour to represent my country.

As time passes by, I plan and hope to reach the highest levels of the sport and compete with the best athletes in the world. I am very passionate about show jumping. I've been very active in promoting the sport. I am a Canadian Palestinian. I competed for Canada in 2021 and currently competing for Palestine. My first major international competition representing Palestine was the FEI World Challenge - Qualifier for the Youth Olympic Equestrian Games. This was the first and most special competition because I won first place and qualified Palestine for the first time to the Youth Equestrian Games which was held in Aachen, Germany in June 2022.

My objective is to spread awareness of horse riding and encourage others to follow the sport. 

 
I have trained in England, Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany for the past four years to enhance my show jumping skills.
